Name:Constance Ardorlight
Birthdate:Oct 29

Constance was raised in a modest but comfortable home by her father, Johia Ursley, an ambitious but devout grain merchant. She had no mother and on the rare occasion she'd dared to ask where she was her father had simply said "You don't have one" and refused to speak anymore on the matter.

Johia worked for years to become acquainted with some of the most powerful men in the city, and when Constance was seventeen he cemented his place in distinguished society by marrying her to the son of High Justice Pandrasus Ardorlight, a well respected and notoriously unflinching man who presided over the trials in his courtroom with an iron fist. His son, Prosper, was a General, a decorated war hero with a great military reputation.

Prosper and Constance's marriage was a strained one, he was never intentionally cruel to her but he always made little effort to disguise how dull he found her. His infidelity was one of the city's worst kept secrets, and Constance often found herself alone in the house they shared with his father and older brother.

The Ardorlight family were well known and well respected, their power an imposing one, the High Justice patriarch a personal friend of countless nobles and royals.

Constance had been married and living with the Ardorlight's for five years, her days filled with little else but reading and prayer. Sometimes she'd have tea with the wives and husbands of other high ranking and important people in the city, but none of them were what she'd call friends. It was at one of these tea parties that her life changed forever...

The gathered company were gossiping, as they often did, about some nobleman's daughter who had had a string of sordid affairs with various partners. They were calling her terrible names and Constance found herself getting angry. She rarely spoke up about anything, but the spite in their tones got under her skin and she was unable to ignore it.

"If she's happy and she isn't hurting anyone I don't see that there's really so much harm in it, is there?"

Arrabella Pinewick, the wife of a judge, a woman who loved nothing more than tormenting Constance given any opportunity, leapt at her chance for another snide remark.

"I suppose at least she can encourage a partner to bed, I've heard you can't even coax your own husband into yours."

The group laughed, they always did when Arrabella teased Constance.

An anger which had been quietly simmering in Constance began to boil over in that moment, something overcame her and in the blink of an eye Arrabella flew backwards, shoved by some invisible force, and landed in the fireplace where her dress quickly caught light. The group's laughter turned to screams...

For a moment everything was chaos, but Constance managed to shake herself to her senses and instinctively flee the house and run. Nobody attempted to stop her.

Now alone in the world and battling her rapidly strengthening magical powers Constance travels from town to town in search of a cure for the strange curse afflicting her.
